1930's Style NY Chainstitch Ball Cap

For this particular cap I've used an original A.G.Spalding pattern from the era which features a 6 panel crown.
The fabric is a beautiful, luxury, lightweight vintage Made In England Mink and Cashmere flannel with classic chainstitch embroidered 'NY' lettering using my 1950's Chainstitch embroidery machine. These caps feature horse hair cloth lining the front internal panels, a cotton sweatband for comfort, and oversized stitched eyelets.
Overall a very special cap which I am very proud of.
This particular pattern was prominent in the 1930's-40's and although not an exact reproduction, I feel these caps are the closest that you will find to the originals of the time in regard to fit. All constructed using period correct machinery and processes.
Features:
- Dark Navy lightweight Mink/cashmere 6 panel crown / Kelly green cotton twill underside
- Horse hair buckram backing internal front two panels
- Chainstitch embroidered ‘NY’
- Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets
- Black cotton twill sweatband
- Satin seam taping
- Canvas lined 2 3/4" inch unbreakable stitched brim
- Rear adjustable d-ring cotton twill strap or fitted
All of my caps are handmade from start to finish by me, using machines from the 1920's-1960's. No two caps are the same and differences in construction are to be celebrated.
