Cone Mills Ball cap (early 1930's)
This is my tribute to the recently closed Cone Mills White Oak Mill. Using the last of my 10.5oz white selvedge ID fabric, and an early 1930's pattern, this classic ball cap shape pays homage to the great American company.
This cap features a 6 panel crown, anti-glare green broadcloth cotton on the underside of the brim, hair cloth lining the inside two front panels and a short-sized soft brim. These caps are fitted like the ones back in the day, so please check your size before you purchase.
- 10.5oz Cone Mills White Oak
- Hand cut, off-white Australian merino wool felt 'C' lettering (paying homage to the early Chicago White Sox)
- Early 1930's style short soft brim
- Selvedge sweatband
- All sewn on pre-WW2 Singer Industrial sewing machines
Fabric will shrink about 1cm in size if washed, and can be stretched out with a cold water soak. If you are wishing to shrink your cap then we suggest soaking them in water for 20min, then rinse out excess water; wear it on for a few minutes when wet to adjust to your head size.
Please understand that these are handmade by one person from start to finish and small differences in construction are to be celebrated.
