This is my interpretation of an early 1900’s Ball cap.
For this particular cap I've used an original pattern from the era which features a 6 panel crown, but I have added a rear adjustable d-ring strap for fit and comfort.
I have used Canadian milled wool melton, a cotton twill sweatband, Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets, and an unbreakable soft 2" inch stitched visor consistent with caps from the era.
This particular pattern was prominent in the early 1900's (pre-1930's) and although not an exact reproduction, I feel these caps are the closest that you will find to the originals of the time in regard to fit. All constructed using period correct machinery and processes.
Adjustable sizes:
55cm-57cm (6 7/8”- 7 1/8”)
56cm-58cm (7”- 7 1/4”)
58cm-60cm (7 1/4”- 7 1/2”)
61cm-62cm (7 5/8”- 7 3/4”)
Features:
- Burgundy wool melton 6 panel crown / Forest green wool underside
- Hand cut Merino felt wool logo
- Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets
- Black cotton twill sweatband
- Cotton twill D-ring rear adjustable strap
- Satin seam taping
- Canvas lined 2" inch unbreakable stitched brim
All of my caps are handmade from start to finish by me, using machines from the 1920's-1960's. No two caps are the same and differences in construction are to be celebrated.
