*PRE-ORDER* KM Style NY Ball Cap (Wool)

$200.00

*PLEASE NOTE* This is a PRE-ORDER cap and therefore production will take from 3-5 weeks depending on my workload. Please keep this in mind before purchasing.

‘KM Pro' was introduced in 1952/53 by Tim McAuliffe and Jacob, KM meaning Kaufman-McAuliffe. From the mid 1950’s to mid 1960’s, these caps were one of the dominant brands used by MLB teams. The fit of the originals are unique and the construction/material quality was really second to none. No wonder the originals are so popular with collectors today.

This cap is NOT an exact reproduction of the KM style, but has been inspired by the pattern and fit. This is my unique/modern take on the classic style.

This cap was inspired by the 1950’s NY Yankees ball caps, but is not a reproduction cap. The fabric is a Italian Milled melton wool. These caps feature horse hair cloth lining the front internal panels, a cotton twill sweatband for comfort, and oversized stitched eyelets.

I now have the option of choosing either fitted sizing or a rear adjustable strap. Both come with a cotton sweatband. Please make sure to leave your preferred size in the order notes at checkout.

Adjustable sizes:

55cm-57cm (6 7/8” - 7 1/8”)

56cm - 58cm (7” - 7 1/4”)

58cm - 60cm (7 1/4” - 7 1/2”)

61cm - 62cm (7 5/8” - 7 3/4”)

Features:

- Navy Italian milled melton wool / Green cotton twill underside brim

- Horse hair buckram backing internal front two panels

- Handcut merino felted wool 'NY'

- Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets

- Black cotton twill sweatband

- Satin taping throughout seams

- Firm ‘KM’ Style visor (2 3/4”)

All of my caps are handmade from start to finish by me, using machines from the 1920’s-1960’s. No two caps are the same and differences in construction are to be celebrated.
