Sashiko Ball Cap
Using my 1930's-40's ball cap pattern, here is a beautiful example made in vintage Japanese indigo-dyed cotton (used for Kendo wear). All single needle sewn on pre-1940's machines, this classic 6 panel crown cap is finished with Reece 101, stitched eyelets, a rear herringbone twill cotton adjustable strap with Deadstock Australian brass d-rings and a soft stitched brim consistent with caps from that era.
This cap features:
- Vintage Japanese Indigo-dyed Sashiko cotton
- stitched, soft brim
- Reece 101 stitched eyelets
- Sashiko fabric sweatband
- oversized top button
- all made using pre-WW2 Singer Industrial sewing machines
The cap will shape and form to your head shape over time. The fabric will also shrink if wet.
Please understand that these are handmade by one person from start to finish and small differences in construction are to be celebrated.
