1930's/40’s Ball Cap
$190.00
This is my interpretation of a late 1930's ball cap.
For this particular cap I've used an original A.G.Spalding pattern from the era which features a 6 panel crown, but have added a rear adjustable strap for sizing flexibility and comfort. I have used US milled melton wool, a cotton twill sweatband, Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets, and an unbreakable soft 2 3/4" inch stitched visor consistent with AG Spalding caps from the era.
This particular pattern was prominent in the 30’s and although not an exact reproduction, I feel these caps are the closest that you will find to the originals of the time in regard to fit. All constructed using period correct machinery and processes.
Features:
- Off white 100% melton wool 6 panel crown / Black melton wool visor with emerald green cotton twill underside
- Horse hair buckram backing internal front two panels
- Hand cut Merino felt wool letter 'O'
- Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets
- Australian leather sweatband
- Satin seam taping
- Canvas lined 2 3/4" inch unbreakable stitched brim
All of my caps are handmade from start to finish by me, using machines from the 1920's-1960's. No two caps are the same and differences in construction are to be celebrated.
