*PRE-ORDER* 1940 San Francisco Seals Ball cap(Navy)

This is my interpretation of the 1940 San Francisco Seals ball cap.

For this particular cap I've used an original A.G.Spalding pattern from the era which features a 6 panel crown. I now have the option of choosing either fitted sizing or a rear adjustable strap. Please make sure to leave your preferred size in the order notes at checkout.

Adjustable sizes:
55cm-57cm (6 7/8” - 7 1/8”)
56cm - 58cm (7” - 7 1/4”)
58cm - 60cm (7 1/4” - 7 1/2”)
61cm - 62cm (7 5/8” - 7 3/4”)

I have used melton wool, a cotton twill sweatband, Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets, and an unbreakable soft 2 3/4" inch stitched visor consistent with AG Spalding caps from the era.

I have used my hand cranked Chainstitch embroidery machine to recreate the iconic Seal patch as accurately as I could using the resources at hand.

This particular pattern was prominent in the 1930's-40's and although not an exact reproduction, I feel these caps are the closest that you will find to the originals of the time in regard to fit. All constructed using period correct machinery and processes.

Features:

- Dark Navy melton wool 6 panel crown / Kelly green cotton twill underside

- Horse hair buckram backing internal front two panels

- Hand cranked chainstitch embroidered Seal on wool felt

- Singer 32-43 oversized stitched eyelets

- Black cotton twill sweatband / or Australian kangaroo leather

- Satin seam taping (colour dependent on availability)

- Canvas lined 2 3/4" inch unbreakable stitched brim

- Rear adjustable d-ring cotton twill strap or fitted

All of my caps are handmade from start to finish by me, using machines from the 1920's-1960's. No two caps are the same and differences in construction are to be celebrated.
